Pakistan Association Japan celebrated 58th, Pakistan's Independence
Day of Pakistan in Nippon Press Club, Tokyo on August 23rd, 2005.
Number of foreign Ambassador to Japan including U.S, India, Turkey,
Indonesia and other respective representatives of various organizations
and business men participated in the event. Pakistan Association
General Secretary Mr. Malik Habib Ur Rehman and other members of
the Association welcomed the guests. This annual ceremony began with
recitation of Holy Quraan. During the opening speech Mr. Habib Ur
Rehman the secretary general of Pakistan Association Japan welcome
the guests and he also explained about current political situation in
Pakistan. He assured that overseas Pakistanis, specially Pakistani
community in Japan fully supports President Musharraf and the
government of Pakistan in their efforts to eliminate extremism from
Pakistan. He also appreciated recent economic developments in
Pakistan and urges all overseas Pakistanis to bring foreign investment
in the country. United States Ambassador to Japan congratulated
Pakistani community in Japan for 58th, independence day of Pakistan.

Pakistan Federal Minister of Information and
Broadcasting Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad's Japan
Visit on the invitation of Pakistan Association Japan

Pakistan Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shaikh
Rasheed Ahmad, on the invitation of Pakistan Association Japan,
visited Japan from August 19th, 2005 to August 22nd, 2005. During the
visit he addressed Pakistani community in Saitama, Toyama and Niigata
and also visited Aichi World Expo 2005 in Nagoya prefecture.
Upon his arrival on August 19th, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad attended a
community meeting organized by Pakistan Association Japan in Yashio,
Saitama Prefecture.
It was a warm community meeting in which Pakistani community in
Saitama prefecture came to know about recent political and economic
development in Pakistan. At he meeting, Pakistan Association Japan's
Secretary General Malik Habib Ur Rehman welcome the Federal
Minister of Information Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad. He thanks Federal
Minister for his visit to Japan to meet Pakistani community. During his
address to the community, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad explained
Pakistan's economic developments and recent steps of government of
Pakistan to further boost the economy. At the end of the meeting many
Pakistanis directly asked the question with the minister on various
issues including government's Kashmir policy and War on Terror.
On August 20th, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad went to Nagoya Prefecture to
visit Aichi World Expo 2005. He visited Pakistani pavilion and shows
great interest in Chinese, Saudi Arabian and Toyota Pavilion.
After visiting Aichi World Expo 2005, he went to Toyama in the evening.
In Toyama, he attended 58th, Pakistan Independence Day ceremony,
organized by Pakistan Association Japan Toyama chapter. It was one of
the best Pakistani community event in Toyama. More than 120
Pakistanis including active Pakistani business men Participated in the
ceremony. In his speech, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad urged all Pakistanis
in Japan to be united and establish friendly and close relation with
Japanese people. " You are Pakistani Ambassador in this country as
you are among fellow Japanese. Japan and Japanese people are very
peace full. I want you to create very friendly relation with the people of
Japan and that would lead to a better and constructive Pakistan-Japan
relations". Shaikh Rasheed Said.
Next day, on August 21st, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad traveled to Niigata to
attend an other community meeting organized by Pakistan Association
Japan. In Niigata as well, Pakistani community welcome the minister with
very warm applause. Many local Japanese people also participated in
the meeting. In this meeting, Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad spoke about
recent economic developments in Pakistan. He assured Pakistanis that
Pakistan is going towards right direction under leader ship of President
Musharraf.

Election of Pakistan Association Japan

Pakistan Association Japan is preparing for next general election
early next year. General Secretary of the Association Mr. Malik
Habib Ur Rehman already initiated for the announcement of the
election and he would announce the program as soon as in
December this year.
